At Based, we love to translate difficult standards and guidelines and make them usable in practice, including the ISO 19650 standard. From appointed to (lead) appointed, from who does what in this process; it is no problem for us. For some years now, the ISO 19650 has formed the practical basis for the work at Based. These internationally based standards are fundamental foundations for digital information management across the entire life cycle of the built environment.
What exactly does this ISO 19650 entail?
In 2018, ISO published the world's first international standards for digital information management using BIM, namely the ISO 19650. This series of standards provides a practical foundation for optimal collaboration from client, designer, engineering to building manager. The efficient flow of information throughout the entire life cycle of the built environment is an important aspect here.
After all, it would be a great pity if information were to be lost during the transfer! The international ISO 19650 has its basis in the guidelines from the United Kingdom (the Pass 1192) that wants to stimulate working with BIM models and optimise cooperation in the fragmented construction industry.
Why would you want to apply this?
By now, these principles and concepts have been widely accepted and applied internationally. Working on the basis of the ISO 19650 ensures better expectation management between the various parties and provides a basis for best practices within the industry.
Do you also want to work with the ISO 19650 as a basis?
Our masterclass 'Applying ISO 19650 in practice' helps companies to make a flying start in implementing the standards in the company structure. We focus on the purpose of the ISO standards. And we wouldn't be Based if we didn't also immediately translate this into a practical application in the organisation. How can you apply this in projects and what can applying the standard mean for your organization? In the master class, we will take the step towards good integration together. Are you interested? There are still some places available in our next masterclass on February 10th, 2022. Register now via info@based.co.nl.
